When Fall Strikes... Missing Nicole

It was cold tonight
Unlike any other cold
I felt right it through  my bones
After I finished praying for the changing seasons
I knew dead leaves had fallen
Showing their beauty in death
But no mortuary was polished enough
To house the arrival of the proceedings
The embassy of darkness
Briskly swept away the light of life
Yet even zombies had a story
Perpetuating how many times a soul dies
Some of us are running from the past
Too quick when we stumble into the future
Some of us are trying to dodge karma
When fornicating with pretentious suitors
It was cold tonight
Unlike any cold
I listened to the shingles tell me
You need to find peace in your heart and mind because it’s home.
