Salutations

It took a minute

To get through the kiss
She had been counting
Train rides and city bus express lane minutes
Eight hour shifts and traffic jam minutes
Every minute since iPhone indications of her typing
Each minute...
Since their lips pressed against one another
Missing blackberry flavored glossed lips
Daydreaming sms explorations
Of just how it would feel

It took a minute

The excitement drove all hate in the room away
Passionate engagements
The orchids and the lilys even came out ordained
Spreading scented symphonies
Each instrument in their unique band playing the perfect note
For the magic of their moment
Unbothered as the rooms setting evaporated
In their plot of lovers attention
Embraces guaranteed with joviality

It took a minute

Drying the trail
Of Tears passing through
It's amazing what love can do
Pinpointing two spriits
Conjugating them in felicity
Allowing them to share
Moments of the perfect missed kiss

It took a minute
To find you
Every fruit and bud blossomed
Invisible confetti fallen under what must be a million mistletoe

It took a minute
And the minutes passed
Releasing only to engage again
Instantaneously refreshed
Salutation permanently accepted
With that October first kiss
